Cops looking for thief who took off on a teen’s $800 bike in Middle Village

Police are attempting to track down a thief who threw a teen off of his bike near Juniper Valley Park in Middle Village and pedaled away with the stolen property last weekend.

According to authorities, the robbery occurred between approximately 4:30 and 6 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 26 at the corner of 74th Street and Juniper Boulevard South.

The robber — who has been described as a white or Hispanic male, standing 6 feet tall and weighing 135 pounds — grabbed the 14-year-old male victim and threw him off of the black Public Enemy Big Ripper bicycle, ripping his shirt, cops reported.

The perpetrator then took off in an unknown direction on the bike, police said.

Law enforcement agents also noted that the bicycle is worth approximately $800, and has a serial number of G7148CMB02.
