A Bronx man was arrested in Flushing earlier this week after an eyewitness allegedly saw him toss a loaded gun under a parked vehicle.

Davonte Brown, 22, of the Bronx was arrested and charged with criminal possession of a weapon in the second degree, law enforcement sources said. Brown is due back in court on June 19.

According to a criminal complaint provided by the Queens District Attorney’s Office, on June 3 at around 7:50 p.m., an eyewitness allegedly saw Brown approach a Toyota RAV4 parked in the vicinity of 35th Avenue between Union Street and Parsons Boulevard and toss a metal object underneath the vehicle.

Upon approaching the car, the eyewitness saw a handgun, a loaded .380 caliber firearm, and called 911. Officers from the 109th Precinct arrived to the scene and apprehended Brown while an NYPD Evidence Collection Team recovered the firearm.

Authorities could not provide any details on the events leading up to Brown throwing the gun under the vehicle.

The 109th Precinct took to Twitter to announce the arrest.

“Our anti-crime team responded to 911 calls of a man with a gun,” the Tweet reads. “They arrested the individual who attmpted [sic] to hide the gun by tossing it under a parked vehicle. There is now #OneLessGun on the streets of Flushing.”
