Police are investigating the death of a College Point man who was discovered unconscious with a head wound in front of his residence on Saturday morning.
At 7:45 a.m. on June 30, officers from the 109th Precinct responded to a 911 call at the home of 44-year-old Steven Gonzalez on 123rd Street near 13th Avenue.
Upon their arrival, the officers found Gonzalez lying unconscious in front of the location with head trauma. Paramedics responded to the scene and pronounced Gonzalez dead; they then brought his body to the Medical Examiner’s office for an autopsy to determine the cause of his demise.
Sources familiar with the investigation indicated that it appeared that the man had suffered the injury after falling on the pavement, but there were no immediate signs of foul play.
