The JFK Air Cargo Association held their annual Golf Outing to benefit the First Company Pink organization for detection and prevention of Breast Cancer.

It is fitting that this event is held in October which is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Started in the 1950’s, this Cargo organization continues to be a benefactor to the JFK Air Cargo community by contributing to charities during their Golf and Christmas events.

This organization has always donated proceeds of this event to different deserving foundations or health oriented organizations. This year “First Company Pink” is the recipient of the proceeds from the golf outing. Says Joe Badamo, “We chose to donate proceeds from this event to First Company pink because they are our local people who help our community fight cancer by early detection.”

Said Donna Cioffi, co-founder, “We thank the Air Cargo Association and Tall Order for donating the proceeds. It is truly a beautifully healing thing they are doing.”

The Air Cargo is one of the last of a dozen or more golf outings held by airport organizations and it unfortunately brings an end to summer, But many golfers actually prefer a cool Autumn day rather than sweltering in the summer heat.

According to John Ryan, cargo, freight forwarders, friends and business associates had a good day at the Douglaston Manor.

Also displaying at the event are Mike Friedman of Tall Order sock company founded by Mike and his mother, a family who lost their father and husband in 9-11. They mission is to give back to families in need. They gave proceeds of this event to First Company Pink as well.

Soon to retire after 53 years working in the cargo and freight industry at JFK Airport Jim Eerickson is rewarded with sinking his putt at the Air Cargo Event.
