Cops were looking for three women who allegedly assaulted a Jamaica hair salon employee while attempting to steal wigs from the shop.

Law enforcement sources said things got hairy Oct. 23 at 2:50 p.m. inside the Hair and Beauty salon located at 168-24 Jamaica Ave.

According to authorities, a 57-year-old man working at the salon spotted three women attempting to remove wigs, valued at $87, from the establishment.

When the salon worker confronted the trio, the women took action, according to police. Security camera footage inside the shop, which police released Nov. 1, showed two women smacking and kicking the man repeatedly, knocking him into a shelf and down to the floor.

When he got back up, the video showed the worker snatched the bag out of one of the women’s hand, prompting her to strike back. She clawed at the man’s face then punched him; a second female then joined the assault, punching and kicking the worker.

The three women fled the scene seconds later, police said.

Officers from the 103rd Precinct responded to the hair-raising caper. The victim suffered minor injuries and refused medical attention.

Police described one of the suspects as a 25-year-old black woman with a medium build and short brown hair, who was last seen wearing a du-rag, a black jacket with colored patches on the front, blue jeans and black work boots.

The NYPD said her accomplices were black women with dark complexions. One of the women had short black hair and wore a red jacket and black pants, while the other was last seen wearing a dark gray jacket, a red hooded sweatshirt, a black hat and black jeans.
