A Bayside man was arrested Feb. 21 and booked at the 107th Precinct in Fresh Meadows in connection with a fatal collision in Jamaica Hills last month.

Yan Yeoh, 63, of 218th Street, was charged with failure to yield to a pedestrian and failure to use due care resulting in serious injury in the death of 24-year-old Daniel Zuzworsky of Wexford Terrace near 175th Street in Jamaica Hills, according to the NYPD.

On the morning of Friday, Jan. 27, police from the 107th Precinct in Fresh Meadows responded to a 911 call of a pedestrian struck by a vehicle on Homelawn Street at the Grand Central Parkway service road at 8:43 a.m. Officers found Zuzworsky lying on the roadway unconscious and unresponsive.

EMS rushed Zuzworsky to Jamaica Hospital Medical Center where he was pronounced dead. A preliminary investigation determined that Yeoh was behind the wheel of a 2013 Mercedes Benz that was on Homelawn Street and making a left turn onto the eastbound Grand Central Parkway service road when he allegedly struck Zuzworky who was crossing the service road.

Yeoh remained on the scene and he was not arrested at the time but an investigation by the NYPD’s Highway Collision Investigation Squad determined he was at fault.
