RESULTS: Middle Village Players Roller Hockey League sees thrilling matchups

The Middle Village Players Roller Hockey League’s second series of games at the start of the season kicked off with a couple of thrilling matchups on Saturday, Sept. 16. 

In a nail-biting game between the Hawks and the Jets, the Hawks secured a hard-earned victory 9-7. Mason (No. 21) and Jake (No. 11) of the Hawks delivered outstanding performances, each scoring three goals during the game. The Jets, however, put up a strong fight, with Paul (No. 27) netting four goals and Felix (No. 17) adding 2 more to their tally. The Hawks’ goalie, Gino, emerged as the game’s winning goaltender.

The Bears faced off against the High Flyers in the second game and emerged victorious with a 13-11 win. The High Flyers attempted a late-game push, led by Nazariy (No. 27) with an impressive seven goals and Anthony (No. 20) contributing two goals, narrowing the score within two points of victory.

This weekend, on Saturday, Sept. 23, the Bears will face off against the Jets at 1 p.m. and the High Flyers and The Hawks play at 3 p.m. The Middle Village Players Roller Hockey League plays inside the James Bohan Hockey Rink, inside Middle Village’s Juniper Valley Park.
