Affordable housing lottery opens in Hollis, rent set at $2,300

A total of 15 affordable units are up for grabs at a development in southeast Queens, with a monthly rent of $2,300.

The affordable units are part of a 7-story building spread across a block in Hollis at 188 Hillside Ave. The development, known as Q-188, has a total of 93 residences, with 78 being market rate.

A lottery has been opened up by the City for the 15 affordable units. Each of the affordable units are one-bedroom and have been set aside for applicants earning 130% of the area median income (AMI).

The area median income for these units ranges from $78,858-$165,230. These units are meant to house up to three people.

The building’s amenities include high-end appliances, an outdoor landscaped roof deck, a rooftop bar with grilling stations, outdoor seating, a media lounge and a residents’ lounge with a co-working space and landscaped outdoor deck. Other features include a fitness center, an indoor-outdoor yoga studio, onsite parking, bike storage and smart laundry. Residents are allowed to have up to two cats or dogs, at a maximum combined weight of 80 pounds.
