State Sen. Joseph P. Addabbo Jr. is making sure that good deeds are rewarded in his district.

The senator has awarded citations to the organizations that participated in last month’s Middle Village Metropolitan Avenue Street Clean-up in appreciation of their community service.

The members of the Middle Village Property Owners and Residents Association and MVP Roller Hockey League who participated in the cleanup were invited to Addabbo’s office on July 10, where they received citations from the Queens senator for their involvement in the neighborhood street clean-up initiative.

The beautification effort on Metropolitan Avenue in Middle Village took place on June 28 and attracted more than two dozen volunteers, who were eager to keep the community clean by picking up trash. A handful of business owners, such as those from Michael’s Funeral Home and Metro Diner, were also awarded citations for keeping their storefronts in pristine condition.

Paul Pogozelski, the lead organizer of the Metro Avenue clean-up, shared the accomplishment with fellow volunteers.

“It Is great to see our community’s next generation of leaders demonstrating their commitment to becoming stewards of our neighborhood,” Pogozelski shared with QNS.

The multi-sponsored event, which is organized in collaboration with Assemblymember Andrew Hevesi, who also represents constituents in Middle Village, is expected to continue in the area with the help of more volunteers.
