The NYPD Community Outreach Division, in partnership with Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield, hosted a special children’s day event on July 11 at Kissena Park in Flushing.
The event featured child safety and personal safety lectures, rock climbing, a bouncy house, a photo booth, snacks, drinks and the NYPD Game Truck, among other activities.
Mark Stewart, Deputy Commissioner of Community Affairs, attended the event, which also included participation from the Mayor’s Office of Immigrant Affairs and NYC Administration for Children’s Services.
The Community Outreach Division focuses on developing partnerships with communities that may face challenges, aiming to enhance quality of life and reduce fear and crime. The division works closely with various groups through meetings and events to foster tolerance and understanding among diverse communities.
Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield, serving New Yorkers for over 80 years, currently provides healthcare and support services to 555,000 individuals in the state’s Medicaid program. The company emphasizes its commitment to the communities it serves, reflecting its dedication to increasing healthcare access for all.
