Police from the 104th Precinct in Ridgewood and Transit District 33. are looking for a pervert who allegedly groped a 14-year-old girl on an M train on the morning of Sunday, Oct. 6.
The youngster was onboard a southbound M train approaching the Seneca Avenue subway station in Ridgewood at around 10:40 a.m. when a stranger approached her and asked to use her cell phone. The suspect repeatedly squeezed her inner thigh, police said Wednesday. The degenerate got off the subway at the Seneca Avenue station and was last seen walking away on Palmetto Street. The girl was not injured during the encounter.
The NYPD released surveillance video showing the suspect exiting the station and described him as having a light complexion with a reddish beard and mustache, 20 to 30 years of age, a slender build, 5 feet, 8 inches tall, and approximately 160 pounds. He wore a gray hooded sweatshirt, black sweatpants, black sneakers and a light brown crossbody bag hanging from his shoulder.

Through Oct. 6, the 104th Precinct has reported 32 sex crimes so far in 2024, 19 fewer than the 51 reported at the same point last year, a decline of 37.3%, according to the most recent CompStat report. Transit crimes are also down in the precinct with 14 reported so far this year, four fewer than the 18 reported at the same point in 2023, a decrease of 22.2%, according to CompStat.
