There's a lull in the action at Alumni Hall on the campus of St. John's University. Then, seemingly out of nowhere, he appears through a maze of people. The crowd begins to stand and cheer and in just moments the old on-campus arena is alive and noisy.
Who is it that brings the masses to their feet? Is it Erick Barkley with his cross-over dribble? Or maybe Lavor Postell jumping to the rafters for a rebound? The person who brings such a charge to the crowd does not even wear a basketball uniform. He is known simply as FlagBoy.
