Al GORES Bradley In Queens

Just two years ago, Vice President Al Gore visited a diner in Woodside, under the clattering number 7 line and imitated the strategy of his mentor (Bill Clinton, that is) of the presidents famous Future Diner visit of connecting with the average citizen of the nations largest ethnic community Queens. As with Clinton, it paid off big in the primary election on March 7.
"Super Tuesday" became "Fat Tuesday" (The New Orleans Mardi Gras spectacular) for Gore in Queens as he swept the borough over challenger Bill Bradley in the same fashion as he apparently did across the continent to become the presumptive Democratic for president of the United States in November.
As for the Republicans, at press time it was inconclusive, but John McCain appeared to have put up a valiant effort to win New York City; however, the Republican establishment was poised to win the day for their candidate, Texas Governor George W. Bush.
In a rare political event in American history, the first presidential contest in the new century now appears to have been decided Gore for the Democrats, Bush for the Republicans months before the convention. The line-up seems to be clear and the next few months will leave the candidates a long time to put into place their financial and political bases.
