Bob Russell makes a weekly trip to my office that is almost as reliable as the tides. With several sheets of paper in his hand he approaches my cluttered desk with a typical smile. He says hello and hands me the papers, exchanging a few pleasantries along the way before he departs.
On the papers are the handwritten standings for most of the recreational sports leagues Russell either runs himself or has a hand in. Hundreds of teams and thousands of players are all represented on the papers he delivers to me.
Russell is at the top of the softball food chain. He is the man who made the BVD Softball League
