The Bayside/Townsend Harris girls soccer game for the Queens I championship Tuesday afternoon had a little bit of everything. There were brilliant goals, cuts, scrapes, solid defending and even a tinge of controversy. And when the dust settled, literally, it was Bayside celebrating a hard fought 4-3 win on penalty kicks at Flushing Meadow Park.
The Commodores capture the Queens I crown and have a bye into the second round of the playoffs while the Hawks limp into a play-in game against the High School for Environmental Studies Thursday at the same dust bowl at Flushing Meadow Park.
