Violence once again erupted outside the Metropolis Nightclub in College Point last week, leaving five men wounded and one under arrest in the latest in a string of troubling incidents at the busy nightclub, police said.
Police said the violence broke out about 2 a.m. last Friday, when two groups of men became involved in a dispute outside the club.
One of the men pulled out a knife as the groups began a brawl that left five men, all between the ages of 18 and 21, injured, two of them seriously, police said.
Police arrested 19-year-old Nick Gambino of Brooklyn, who was charged with attempted murder, assault and criminal possession of a weapon, said Officer Chris Cottingham, a police spokesman.
Gambino, of 21-51 71st St., was arraigned over the weekend, said Queens District Attorney spokeswoman Mary de Bourbon. If convicted he would face up to 25 years in prison, de Bourbon said.
