The Police Department padlocked the Porterhouse Grill in Fresh Meadows last Thursday five days after a group of men who were refused entry to a private party at the restaurant fired off dozens of rounds at patrons inside the steakhouse.
Civic leaders said the shooting at the Porterhouse Grill, which is at one end of the Union Turnpike strip of restaurants and bars, reflected the problem the community has encountered with drunken and disorderly patrons on the thoroughfare that bisects the residential Fresh Meadows neighborhood.
