FLUSHING – Three men suspected in the robberies of 28 stores throughout Queens, Brooklyn and New York City were arrested at 11:45 p.m. Tuesday after they allegedly tried to rob a sporting goods store at 165-19 Northern Blvd. in Flushing, said Police Department spokeswoman Carolyn Chew.
George Delacruz, 28, whose address was unknown, Elvis Castillo, 27, of 115-68 Lefferts Blvd. in Ozone Park, and Cesal Mateo, 19, of 841 Knickerbocker Ave. in Brooklyn were all charged with robbery and criminal possession of a weapon, Chew said.
72-year-old man found dead outside 28th Ave. address
COLLEGE POINT – Joseph Possarello, 72, of 146-23 28th Ave. was found dead outside 156-23 28th Ave. at 1:34 p.m. Monday, said Police Department spokeswoman Det. Carolyn Chew
The cause was not determined as of press time; an investigation was continuing.
Two men rob store, flee with cash, laptop
FLUSHING – Two men in their 30s robbed an electronics store at 164-03 Northern Blvd. Saturday afternoon and walked away with $1,600 in cash and a laptop computer, said Police Department spokesman James Tuller. The robbery at Galaxy Electronics occurred at about 2 p.m. There were no arrests and an investigation was pending.
Man tied up, robbed in his 149th St. home
BRIARWOOD – A man was tied up and robbed in his home at 84-05 149th St. Saturday, said Police Department spokesman James Tuller. At about 10:45 p.m., an unknown man knocked on the door and then forced his way into the home, police said.
There were no arrests and an investigation was pending.
Two shot in Cambria Hts.; both listed as stable
CAMBRIA HEIGHTS – Two women were shot at 218-10 133rd Ave. at 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, said Police Department spokeswoman Carolyn Chew. The gunman, in his 20s, fled in a silver Buick., police said.
One woman was grazed in the head and the other was shot in the buttocks, Chew said.
The two 24 -year-olds were both taken to Mary Immaculate in stable condition and an investigation was continuing.
