Queensborough Community College presents the Theatreworks/USA production of “Charlotte's Web,” at 3 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 26, at the QCC Theater, 56th Avenue and Springfield Boulevard in Bayside. The play relates E.B. White's tale of the friendship between a pig named Wilbur and a little gray spider, Charlotte. The production entertainingly conveys an importantly lesson about selflessness and sacrifice. Call 718-631-6311.
Queens Theatre in the Park presents “Rollin' Through the Decades,” an “ice show on wheels” by Red Hot and Rollin' highlighting music from the past 100 years. Performances of this installment of the RCN Family Series are at 2 p.m. Friday-Sunday, Nov. 24-26. Call 718-760-0064.
Barnes & Noble, 70-00 Austin St., Forest Hills offers a nature walk to MacDonald park to learn about bark and leaf rubbings, and preserving fallen leaves, starting at 3:45 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 22 for ages 7-12. The store presents a session of Gymboree for pre-schoolers at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Nov. 27. On Tuesday, Nov. 28, the story “Power Puff Girls” will be read to toddlers. Many performances scheduled in the 2000-2001 season of Queens Theatre in the Park in Flushing Meadows are a great way for kids to tear away from their video and computer monitors and experience the magic of live theater. Upcoming productions include a Chanukah Cabaret, “The Snow Queen,” “James and the Giant Peach,” “Animal Tales and Dinosaur Scales” and “Jack and the Beanstalk.” Call 718-760-0064.

Kids 11 years old and up can volunteer to help younger children in the “Reading is Fun-damental” program at the Central Library on Merrick Boulevard in Jamaica. Call 718-990-0767. Also at the Central Library, as well as the Flushing, Elmhurst, and Langston Hughes branches, patrons of the library can now use an express machine to take out books, by simply running their library card bar code and the bar codes on the books through the machine – a kind of library EZ pass. (The regular circulation desk still must be used for materials other than books).
