Colden Center is now advertising season events on a new electronic marquee located near exit 24 of the Long Island Expressway. The marquee, which provides greater visibility for all Colden Center and Queens College events, was made possible by a major grant from the Queens County Savings Bank.
“Jazz!” at Colden Center, now in its fifth year, has received grants from the Queens College Foundation to help cover the costs of a Jazz Residency at a number of Queens high schools. This program provides young people to meet and learn from professional jazz musicians, performers and historians in a variety of events, including in-school jazz clinics.
“Relations,” the arts education series now in its 18th season, reaches 20,000 children in grades K through 8 each year. These school-time performances help children make the connections between the arts, classroom learning and their world.
