Three New Queens Schools To Open

The proposed schools are P.S. 253 in Far Rockaway; P.S. 268 in Jamaica; and the High School for Architecture and Urban Planning in Ozone Park.
P.S. 253 in School District (S.D.) 27 will accommodate 704 students in a site currently occupied by a vacant community center and a church parking lot at 12-87 Central Ave.
P.S. 268, in S.D. 29, will also seat 704 students in a school that will replace a vacant catering hall and parking lot on Jamaica Ave., between 175 and 176 sts.
The high school will seat 931 pupils in a new building located at 94 Ave. and 104 St. in Ozone Park.
