OAKLAND GARDENS — A 23-year-old woman was found dead in the bedroom of an Oakland Gardens home early Sunday morning, police said.

Her identity was not known and the medical examiner is to determine the cause of death, said Det. Eugene Canapi, a spokesman for the Police Department.
Police patrols beefed up at dangerous intersections
BAYSIDE — The 111th Police Precinct announced accident-prone locations where it plans to increase patrols in March.
Accident-prone locations are subject to additional enforcement, Community Affairs Officer Anthony Lombardi of the 111th Precinct said.
These locations are targeted by police because there was an increase in the number of crashes in the previous month.
The current locations are Marathon Parkway and Horace Harding Expressway, and Springfield Boulevard and Horace Harding Expressway.
Dalney Road man dead in car after shooting self: Police
JAMAICA ESTATES — A 52-year-old man was found dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head Tuesday, police said.
The man was found in his car in the driveway of his home on Dalney Road at about 4:45 p.m. Tuesday, said Officer Cheryl Cox, a spokeswoman for the police department.
The man’s name was not released.
Pedestrian, driver fight after mishap in Sunnyside
SUNNYSIDE — A pedestrian and a driver got into an altercation last Thursday evening on Queens Boulevard and 39th Street in Sunnyside, police said.
Joseph Somers, 42, of Whitestone was crossing the street diagonally when he was struck by a westbound car’s side-view mirror, said Detective Carolyn Chew, a Police Department spokeswoman.
The 31-year-old driver of the car, whom police did not identify, apparently did not realize what had happened.
Somers approached him when he was stopped at a light, and allegedly started a physical altercation, Chew said.
Somers, treated and released from East Elmhurst Hospital, was arrested and charged with assault.
No summonses were issued against the driver, who declined medical attention, Chew said.
Woman shot in shoulder in Rockaways, brother charged
FAR ROCKAWAY — A 22-year-old woman was shot in the shoulder early Saturday morning in Far Rockaway, and her brother was arrested the next day, police said.
The victim told police she spent about 20 minutes at the Paplo Club at 20-17 Cornaga Ave. before walking across the street at about 5 a.m. to visit her mother, said Sgt. James Foley, a spokesman for the police department.
The woman realized she had been shot while crossing the street, Foley said. She was treated and released from St. John’s Hospital.
Her brother, Timothy Robinson, 21, was arrested Sunday, said Det. Eugene Canapi.
Man jumps in front of G train, dies later at hospital: Police
ELMHURST — A man jumped in front of a subway train Monday and died at the hospital soon afterwards, police said.
The man, who police said was in his 40s but had not been identified, jumped in front of a G train at about 9 p.m., said Cadet John Buthorn, a spokesman for the police department.
The man died at Elmhurst Hospital.
Man, 53, found dead in 135th Ave. hotel
SOUTH JAMAICA — A 53-year-old man was found dead in a hotel at 138-10 135th Ave. at about 10:45 p.m. Monday, police said.
The man’s identity was not known and the medical examiner is to determine the cause of death, said Officer Cheryl Cox, a spokeswoman for the Police Department.
61-year-old man stabbed in stomach in Astoria fight
ASTORIA — Two 61-year-old men who knew each other got into a violent dispute last Thursday night, which ended with one of them getting stabbed in the stomach, police said.
The altercation was at 20-47 Shore Blvd. in Astoria. The victim was taken to Elmhurst General Hospital and listed in stable condition, said Cadet John Buthoron, a Police Department spokesman.
No arrests were made.
Off-duty officer attacked by 2 in Rockaways eatery
FAR ROCKAWAY — An off-duty police officer was assaulted by two other women in a McDonald’s Sunday, police said.
Officer Joan Coleman was at the fast-food restaurant at 91-98 Beach Channel Drive when two women started a fight with her, said Detective Eugene Canapi, a spokesman for the department.
Linda Moore, 21, of Maryland and Lisa Hill, 23, of Jamaica were arrested after the incident, and Hill was charged with assault, Canapi said.
