Corrections Officer Charged In Rosedale Murder

Renee Dasque, 36, is accused of striking her sister Jeanine Dasque, 31, twice in the head with a pipe. However, what has dumbfounded cops is the murder of Jacques Dasque, 63, who was found tied and beaten to death in the basement. And now many believe this tragedy could have been averted.
"The cops came by before to stop the conflict. They could have saved him," said Jeron Antoine, 18, Dasques neighbor.
At 2 a.m. the younger Dasque came out screaming from the home, on 147 Rd., with blood on her face. Police officers arrived at the scene but reportedly never entered the home.
The victim was taken to Franklin Hospital Medical Center where she was treated for a head laceration and received 80 stitches.
Police said Jeanine Dasque never filed charges against her sister because she didnt want her to get into trouble.
However, later, Jeanine Dasque at 6:30 a.m. was outside the home screaming when police arrived to find the dead body of Jacques Dasque. Officers arrived at the scene when Renee Dasque called the warden at Rikers to tell him that the father of her 12-year-old son was threatening her. The warden called 911.
Neighbors claim they saw an unfamiliar man leaving the home around 6 a.m., but no new information is available on him.
Renee Dasque is currently being questioned by authorities, but claims she was upstairs during the entire ordeal.Sandra Smith, a Corrections Dept. spokeswoman, said Dasque, a member of the Department since 91 was on disability leave, has been suspended without pay but had no further comment.
The investigation is ongoing.
