POMONOK — Two men robbed cash receipts from a Parsons Avenue bowling alley early Tuesday morning, police said.
The robbers remained hidden on the premises after Jib Lanes closed and then appeared with a gun around 2:45 a.m., while the manager was counting the night’s receipts, police said.
They announced a robbery at the 67-19 Parsons Blvd. location and bound the manager with duck tape. They took the cash from a safe and fled in an unknown direction, police said.
Hillside Ave. dispute ends in death of 1
HOLLISWOOD — A dispute between four men turned deadly on the corner of Hillside Avenue and 217th Street late Monday night.
Jamel Morris, a 25-year-old Queens Village man, was stabbed once in the chest following an argument with 18-year-old Ezekiez Headley and his brother, 16-year-old Zachariah Headley, both of 89-15 218th Place, and 19-year-old Ian Ross of 95-20 222nd. St., police said.
Morris was taken to Mary Immaculate Hospital, where he died at 10:25 p.m., police said.
The two brothers were arrested at the scene and charged with manslaughter, police said. An investigation led to the arrest of Ross, who was also charged with manslaughter, police said.
Officer shot on 132nd Ave. in attempted carjacking
SPRINGFIELD GARDENS — An unidentified man shot Kevin Bertrand, a 36-year-old off-duty corrections officer late Friday night at 132nd Avenue and 161st Street, police said. The man approached Bertrand while he was sitting in his 1997 Mercedes and tried to carjack the vehicle, police said.
The man shot the unarmed Bertrand while the officer tried to escape. He was grazed in the stomach and arm, police said.
Bertrand then drove himself to Mary Immaculate Hospital, where he was admitted in stable condition, police said.
Police were investigating.
21-year-old man carjacked in daytime in S. Ozone Park
SOUTH OZONE PARK — A 21-year-old man was carjacked in daylight Saturday afternoon, police said.
The man was in a Suzuki Vitara in front of 132-01 111th Ave. shortly after 1 p.m. when a man in his 20s approached the car displaying a gun and demanding money, police said.
After the man gave the robber some money, the bandit hit the victim over the head with the gun and fled the scene in the victim’s Suzuki, police said.
Police did not describe the medical condition of the victim or say whether he was taken to the hospital.
No arrests were made and an investigation was continuing.
Driver in serious condition after crash on Northern Blvd.
EAST ELMHURST — A car traveling east on Northern Boulevard was struck by another car at the intersection with 106th Street about 8:15 a.m. last Thursday, police said.
The driver of the eastbound car was taken to Queens Hospital Center in serious condition, authorities said.
The other motorist drove away from the scene.
Police did not identify the injured driver. They were investigating.
4 assault Indian man on Roosevelt Avenue
WOODSIDE — An Indian man was attacked by four white men who yelled racial epithets at him Friday afternoon, police said.
The victim was beaten on the corner of Roosevelt Avenue and 61st Street, police said.
He was approached by the four men who punched and kicked him while shouting the racial slurs, police said.
No arrests were made and police were investigating.
Indian man attacked on Queens Boulevard
SUNNYSIDE — A 35-year-old Indian man was assaulted by two unidentified men who shouted anti-Arabic remarks early Saturday, police said.
The victim was walking on Queens Boulevard at 41st Street at about 5 a.m. when he was accosted by the two men who then fled, police said. He declined medical attention.
Police were investigating.
Decomposed body found in 68th Avenue home
RIDGEWOOD — The partially decomposed body of a 49-year-old man was discovered late last Thursday night at 62-19 68th Ave., police said. The man was lying face down in his kitchen, police said.
The medical examiner is to determine the cause of death.
Two gunmen rob Woodhaven 7-Eleven
WOODHAVEN — Two men in their 30s robbed $70 from the 7-Eleven store at 102-03 101st Ave. early Saturday morning, police said. The men entered the store around 4 a.m. and, displaying a gun, took the cash from the register, police said.
The robbers then fled. No one was hurt. Police were investigating.
Robbers tunnel through wall to get to 37th Avenue bank
ELMHURST — Robbers broke through the wall of a store next to the Dime Savings Bank at 75-25 37th Ave. around 7 a.m. Saturday and took an undetermined amount of cash, police said.
Police were investigating.
