Citing a scheduling conflict at Madison Square Garden, the PSAL announced Monday only the boys’ and girls’ ‘A’ championships will be played at the World’s Most Famous Arena on March 16.
A date and site for the ‘B’ championships is yet to be determined, although the PSAL would like to play the games March 14.
Last year Madison Square Garden was the home to all four championships, starting with the girls’ ‘B’ title match at 10 a.m. The two ‘A’ championships were also broadcast live on MSG Network.
However, because of a Knicks-Cleveland Cavaliers game at 7:30 p.m. on March 16, the arena has to be cleared out earlier and, after weighing several options including playing the first game at 6 or 7 a.m., the PSAL decided to move both ‘B’ games out of the Garden.
The PSAL plans on resuming its four-game schedule next year.
