By Sabina Cardali

Welcome to the Point. The Point being College Point.

Groundhog Day was upon us and Punxsutawney Phil was wearing a tuxedo jacket — but it had a fur collar and he declared there would be six more weeks of winter. Mayor Bloomberg, however, was with Staten Island Chuck and this groundhog was wearing shorts and declared spring had arrived.

Remember that the weather has been unpredictable everywhere and it is important that you dress properly for it.

Also, there is a water shortage, so don’t waste even a drop. Run washing machines and dish washers when they are at full capacity. Do not wash sidewalks. Everyone’s cooperative efforts will help to get through this shortage.
