Erin’s Isle 8, Flowers By Peter 4. Erin’s Isle captured its first win of the season, defeating Flowers By Peter, 8-4. Flowers By Peter struck first with goals by Travis Lippert (two goals) and Alex Palazzolo. Erin’s Kevin Huynh (two goals) put his team on the board with a goal in the first period. In the second period Erin’s Anthony Pagano lit up the scoreboard with four goals and added a fifth in the third period. Marc DiPaolo scored a goal for Erin’s and Ricky Callahan contributed two assists. Flower’s Nick Veljacich provided a goal. Goalies Kevin Murray, for Erin’s, and Evan Kundrat kept their teams in the game with some fine goaltending.
Mass Electric 14, David & Nancy Legaz ReMax Universal 10. The David & Nancy Legaz — Re/Max Universal Team lost its first game of the season, falling to Mass Electric, 14-10. Mass Electric took a commanding 5-1 lead after the first period. Team ReMax picked up the pace in the second period, but was unable to stop Mass Electric. The teams scored goal for goal in the third period. Leading the offense for Mass Electric was Patrick Schule with 10 goals, while Ray Rosa found the back of the net four times. For Team ReMax, Evan Katz buried the biscuit eight times and Eric Wong and Grovdic contributed a goal each.
Mass Electric 6 Flowers By Peter 5. Mass Electric led 5-1 only to see Flowers By Peter blossom with three goals to make the game 5-4. Mass Electric won the rain-shortened game, 6-5. Mass Electric’s Ray Rosa (three goals), Thomas Renner, Frank Masi and Joe Tully provided the offense. Flowers By Peter’s goals came off the sticks of Travis Lippert (three goals) and Evan Kundrat (two goals).
David & Nancy Legaz ReMax Universal 6, Erin’s Isle 4. Erin’s Isle’s Ricky Callahan scored the game’s first goal. Jeffrey Johnston (two goals) tied the game, only to have Anthony Pagano put Erin’s back on top one minute later. Christian Kenny scored for ReMax with two minutes left in the first period to tie the game 2-2. In the second period, David Legaz put Remax ahead to stay, followed by goals off the sticks of Eric Wong and Marion Grdovic. In the third period, Anthony Pagano and Marc DiPaolo scored for Erin’s.
Major Division
ReAction Auto 6, Venezia Tile 2. ReAction Auto rolled over Venezia Tile, 6-2. ReAction came out smoking, taking a 4-0 lead in the first period with three goals off the stick of Zack Sieger and a goal by Elias Laris. Venezia scored twice in the second period with goals from Derek LaMacchia and Alex Aoulevaris.
Project Piping 7, Charmer Industries 5. Project Piping’s Michael McCann (two goals) buried the biscuit first, but Charmer Industries’ Anthony Yaccovone (three goals) and John Pagano fired back to put Charmer on top. Project Piping’s Danny Katz (four goals) found the net twice to tie the game after the first period. Spiros Markopolis and Anthony Yaccovone led the offense for Charmer in the second and McCann, Katz and Sarikhani finished off Charmer with goals in the third period.
Senior Division
Transcreen 6, Pizza Chef 5. Team Transcreen took a 6-2 lead in the third period. Pizza Chef battled back to make the game 6-5, but was denied the final goal by Transcreen’s defense. Pizza Chef’s Pat Brennan scored first. Matt Novak, TJ Moran (two goals), Keith Smith and Adam Akpinar (two goals) provided the offense for Transcreen. For Pizza Chef, Anthony DiFalco, Michael Bova (two goals) and Danny Ngo found the net.
Rudy’s Bakery 5, Central City Bagels 3. Rudy’s Bakery outlasted Central City Bagels, 5-3. Marcos Brito scored four times for Rudy’s and Ed Johnston contributed a goal. Bagels was led by Cory McGrath’s three goals.
