Every summer since 1965 the New York Philharmonic has brought masterful performances to small venues throughout the five boroughs, and this year will be no different.

On Wednesday, July 24, the Philharmonic performed classic works by Dvoräk, Bruch, Liszt and others to Central Park’s Great Lawn. They are following up with performances in the Bronx, Staten island, Nassau County and New Jersey Thursday through Monday, and hitting Cunningham Park in Queens Tuesday.

The repertoire for the Cunningham Park concert, which will feature Ascher Fisch conducting and Alisa Weilerstein on cello, includes Rossini’s “William Tell” overture, “Cello Concerto No. 1” by Saint-Saëns and Rachmaninoff’s “Symphonic Dances.”

The concert will start at 8 p.m. and be followed by fireworks. For more information, call 212-875-5709 or go to www.newyorkphilharmonic.org
