A Middle Village man was arrested Friday morning for allegedly carrying out a series of armed robberies in the 104th Precinct, police said, one of which he may have pulled off right in front of his own building.
Officers from the Queens Robbery Squad arrested Jimmy Perez, 34, in his apartment at 61-59 Dry Harbor Rd. at 7:45 a.m. in connection with a pattern of four armed robberies, three in the Ridgewood-based 104th Precinct and a fourth in the 112th Precinct in Forest Hills, police said.
He was charged with robbery and criminal possession of a controlled substance at his arraignment Saturday before Queens Criminal Court Judge John LaTella, who set bail at $7,500, a spokeswoman for Queens District Attorney Richard Brown said.
He is being held at the Queens Detention Complex in Kew Gardens, Department of Corrections spokesman John Mohan said.
In the most recent incident, Perez allegedly pulled a gun on a man shortly after midnight July 23 outside 61-60 Dry Harbor Road — directly across the street from his own apartment building — and repeatedly demanded that the man hand over money, according to the criminal complaint filed by the Queens DA’s office.
Once his victim gave him about $600, Perez lifted his gun in the air and cocked it before riding away, the complaint alleged.
When police went to arrest him three days later, they recovered more than a half-ounce of cocaine in his bathroom as well as two pipes containing cocaine residue in his bedroom, the complaint said.
