To The Point: Holy Trinity invites CCD pupils to register

By Sabina Cardali

Welcome to the Point. The Point being College Point.

Labor Day reminds you that right after, it’s back to work.

For parents who have children attending public school and who missed the registration dates in May, there will be one final registration date for new students in the Religious Education (CCD) program. This will take place in the Holy Trinity Rectory on Wednesday, Sept. 18 from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Please bring a copy of your child’s baptism certificate and the fee for the year — $50 per child.

If you have not re-registered your child for his or her new term, please do so with Fr. Joe on or before Sept. 16. If you have questions about registration, please contact him at the rectory before this date at 746-7730.

Fr. Latona from Holy Trinity is seeking an experienced, mechanically able full-time employee. Please call 746-7730 for more information.

Knights of Columbus, Msgn. Dillon Council is holding its annual picnic on Saturday, Sept. 21 at St. Alphonsus Formation Residence from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. The rain date is Sept. 22. Tickets are $15. Children 12 and under are $8. For tickets or reservations, please call Sam Brintle at 767-7240 or Frank Durkin at 767-1196.

Congratulations to Joe Hruska, who won two pools back to back — an 8-lb. fluke and several 5-lb. ones, as well as $231 in bingo. This appeared in the Fisherman paper. I told Greta she would have to cook the winners and she can have a little tip from the bingo winnings.

Sabina Says…It was wonderful as usual having my daughter Angela and grandsons Eric and Brian spend their summer vacation with us. We just about went everywhere. The added event was a special surprise birthday celebration for Rocky and I. His birthday is July 2 and mine is July 22. The party was arranged by Angela and everybody kept the surprise including my grandchildren. We had a great time, as did relatives and friends who attended the party.
