“Killer Cam” had a killer couple of games for the Cardozo boys’ basketball team. In a resounding 83-65 win over league rival Jamaica Friday, Tyler scored 17 of his game-high 23 points in the first half as the Judges avenged its only league defeat.
In the PSAL Brooklyn Winter Classic at Brooklyn College a day later, Tyler went head to head with Benjamin Banneker’s Gary Forbes. While the Virginia-bound Forbes scored 38 points, including eight three-pointers, it was Tyler who put the game away with a pair of free throws with 17 seconds to clinch a 64-63 win. Tyler, who has drawn interest from several Division I schools, finished with a team-high 25 points.
