Despite being saddled with four fouls, Rosalyn Gold-Onwude dominated the fourth quarter against rival Mary Louis Saturday at Christ the King, scoring 9 of her game-high 21 points in the Stanners’ 53-37 win in the CHSAA Brooklyn/Queens Diocesan quarterfinals.
With Molloy clinging to a 36-35 lead heading into the fourth quarter, Gold-Onwude, a TimesLedger first-team All-Queens player last year, took over and scored seven straight points in the Stanners’ 16-2 run.
“She didn’t take bad shots, she was knifing through their defense,” said Molloy coach Marty Towey. “For someone to stop her, they have to be real good, Christ the King good.”
