At the Central Library Cyber Center on Mondays, Feb. 10 and 24 at 7 p.m., Lenworth Stephenson, a certified human resources professional, will conduct “Polish Your Résumé,” and guide you through editing, formatting and producing a professional quality résumé using the computers in the Cyber Center. Keyboard and mouse experience is essential. Please bring a copy of your old résumé and any information that needs to be added. Storage disks are available for purchase or you may bring your own. Choosing a career path based on your interests and experiences may also be explored at the Central Library in Jamaica. Discover your career potential with the Career Exploration Inventory, a self-scored easy-to-use guide to choosing a career. A Job Information Center librarian will be present to assist and answer questions on Tuesday, Feb. 11, from 1:30-3:00 p.m. and on Monday, Feb. 24, from 7-8:30 p.m. Preregistration is required; space is limited in Area A, Lower Level.
The Flushing Library will host three consecutive Tuesday workshops in “The Art of Public Speaking” with Helen Coronis in Rooms A&B, Lower Level, all at 6 p.m.
Attend one or all three sessions: Feb. 11 (Conquering Your Fears); Feb. 18 (How to Deliver a Prepared Speech); Feb. 25 (The Impromptu Speech-Are You Ready?). Learn how to overcome your fear of speaking in front of people in three consecutive sessions as you absorb fundamental techniques useful in delivering speeches.

On Thursday, Feb. 13, at 6:30 p.m., the Briarwood Branch presents “Your Estate Plan Made Easy” with Jules Martin Haas, attorney-at-law. Learn the practical and legal considerations in planning your estate, including wills, health care proxies, living wills, and other matters that might affect your estate. You were born with an agenda … do you know what it is? Eric Head presents a personal mythology workshop, “The Art of Hand Analysis” on Wednesday, Feb. 19 at 4 p.m. at the Astoria Branch, 14-01 Astoria Blvd.; 718-278-2220. Learn about the history of reading hands, how readings are conducted and possibly participate in a short reading.
Eric Head has studied at the International Institute of Hand Analysis and has been reading hands for over 10 years. His analysis demonstrates how a person’s hand reveals how he or she handles power, time, money, work, love, communication, intimacy and spirituality.
The Library’s Lefferts Branch, in partnership with The Queens Health Network, will present “How Can I See a Doctor When I Don’t Have Health Insurance?” on Saturday, Feb. 22 at 1 p.m. with speaker Fatima Mehmood of Queens Hospital Center.
Should you or your child become ill and need medical care, you cannot be denied even if you don’t have health insurance. This seminar explains how the hospital helps the uninsured. Topics will include: introduction to Queens Hospital Center; the options for those without insurance; immigration issues and health insurance; where to go for help; and questions and answers.
