Major Division
Pacific Lawn 13, Bourbon Street 6. Joey Schade and Laz Wigley combined for six strong innings, Sebastian Poplowski had two hits and Rob Renzi hit his third home run to lead the Sprinklers. For Bourbon Street, Nick Copelli and Paul Gorynski led their team with fine hitting and fielding.
Pacific Lawn 8, Club Care 3. Alex Robinson and James O’Brien were the hitting stars with two hits each. Liam Donahue played a fine first base and Nick Virzi used his head in the field for the Sprinklers. For Club Care, Joe Vitti pitched a strong four innings.
PeeWee Division
Duce Construction vs. Major Homes. Game ball honors for Duce went to Nico Antonucci for his tremendous home run. Major Homes had many hitting stars of its own in this fine PeeWee contest.
Johnson Financial vs. Duce Construction. There are not too many balls that can get by the Cardillo twins, Michael and Chris. Their fine fielding and throwing skills earned them game balls for Duce.
Nicholas Bassotti had a game for the ages for Johnson, as he went 2-for-2 with a bases-clearing triple. Ruazairo DiBella was outstanding on defense, displaying a cannon of an arm with a super throw to the plate from the outfield.
Anna Maria’s Bagels vs. American Legion Post 123. American Legion came out swinging with each player banging out two big hits. Jake Sheridan was the bitting star for Anna Maria’s, also stroking two big hits. Vincent Fabrizi flashed some Keith Hernandez-like defense at first base to anchor the defense.
Bagel and Bake vs. Lloyds. Matthew Santagato and Ashley Aiosa were the batting stars for the heavy hitting Lloyds, and Bagel and Bake was led by the gold glove defense of first baseman Tristan Nagel and the big bat of Joseph Fiscalatti.
Pearl Street Diner vs. Titan Development. Pearl Street’s bats were smoking, as sluggers Matthew Bader and Skylar Bonne’ stroked some ropes into the outfield. Jordan Simon smashed a grand slam home run for Titan in his first at bat, and teammate Yanni Lainis added to the offensive barrage with two big hits of his own.
Texas Division
R. Klein, CPA 17, Mardene Construction 4.
These two gutsy teams played out this game in terrible weather conditions. R. Klein, CPA’s hot bats continued with 15 hits in five innings. The game ball went to Thomas DeCicco, who went 2-for-3 with an RBI, and Terrance Grogan chipped in with a solid double.
Klein pitchers Christian Cruz, Alex Lamburini and Jordan Manuel combined for a one-hitter. Mardene was led by the strong pitching of Anthony DiPasquale and great defensive plays by Joe Bello in the loss.
Applebee’s Bayside 10, Mittman’s Medics 8
Applebee’s was led by Michael Pendergrast, who had three great at bats and did a great job behind the plate, while David Gmuca went 3-for-3 to power the offense.
For Mittman’s, Douglas Chu had an outstanding game at shortstop and Joe McManus pitched three strong innings in the loss.
Applebee’s Bayside 8, Gemini Tanning 2
Applebee’s Nicholas Coulianidis had two outstanding plays at third base and Ryan Pelligrino led the offense with three great at bats. Kyle Bremer had a two-run homer and Matt Gluck did a fine job pitching for Gemini in the defeat.
Outback Steakhouse 14, A&A Plumbing 7
Outback jumped out to an early 8-0 lead after two innings led by Anthony Panepinto, who went 2-for-2 with two RBIs. Frank Arigo also went 3-for-4 with a triple and three RBIs. Nick Loccisano kept A&A Plumbing at bay, striking out nine in the first three innings. Arigo pitched scoreless fifth and sixth innings, striking out six in relief.
A&A Plumbing mounted a rally in the fourth inning, scoring five runs on RBI hits by Jon Michael Lordi and Jordan Tozitsky. Doug McGrath was outstanding at third base with key defensive plays in the middle of two big innings by Outback.
Minor Division
Meric Law 10, Printing Express 8. In a winning effort for Meric Law, Christopher, Jimenez and Mike Colasuno had two hits each, and Mike Lavin and Timothy Yoo both had one hit each. Brian Nargy pitched several great innings for Printing Express, had two walks and stole three bases including home plate.
Meric Law 7, Bayside Milk Farm 5. Bayside Milk Farm took an early lead and held it until the top of the sixth inning. After a shaky start, Meric Law settled down. The team was led by John Paul Kolotouros, who came in relief and shut down Milk Farms’ offense, had a hit and made a great play at first base.
Ryan Paccione scored the game-tying RBI in the top of the sixth. Ryan Magee had two hits and put Meric in the lead with a two-run double. Jared Young had two hits and scored twice. Chris Jimenez had two RBIs. For Milk Farm, Nicholas Doulaveris pitched six tremendous innings. He struck out 13 batters, made two put outs and had a hit.
Meric Law 15, North Shore Baptist Church 4. John Paul Koulotouros pitched three scoreless innings, striking out eight batters. Offense came from Ryan Magee (2-for-3), who hit a monster shot to right field. Jared Young had two hits and two walks, and Ryan Paccione had two hits. Catcher Christopher Jimenez had another great day behind the plate.
For North Shore, Sandy Tomasik shut down Meric’s offense in relief and made some great defensive plays at short stop. Robert Ciullo hit a tremendous triple to left field, and Joey DiBenedetto took one for the team.
Biordi Construction 11, Sac’s Restaurant 1. Devin Ferranti was hot on the mound as he pitched a complete game for Biordi, allowing only one run while striking out nine batters. Biordi’s offense was led by Robert Schlinder, who had a 3-for-4 day, and Pete Kowpak, who was 2-for-2. The defense had some nice plays from Derrick Casanas and Thomas Myers. Rocco Sacramone pitched some fine innings for Sac’s.
Biordi Construction 6, Clearview Paint 6. The teams battled to a 6-6 tie before the rain started to come down in the fifth inning. For Biordi, Tom Karcinski doubled with the bases loaded to drive in three runs, and Anthony Scianna went 2-for-3 to help the offense. A fine defensive play by John Vass helped preserve the tie for Biordi. Patrick Rufino played a good game behind the plate for Clearview Paint.
