The Our Lady of the Snows Intermediate boys’ baseball team went 3-1 during the week, raising its season record to 12-2.
The highlight of the week occurred Sunday, June 15, in the first game of a doubleheader against St. Stan’s. Frankie Sadicario took the mound for OLS and pitched a no-hitter, striking out 11. In the second game of the twin bill, James Reid went to the hill and got the win by throwing six innings, allowing one run on four hits and striking out five.
Some offensive highlights this past week included Anthony Langone, who got four hits including a triple and drove in four runs; Brian Kelleher, who doubled, tripled and scored four runs; Brian Biscotti, who had two doubles, a run scored and drove in two runs; Ray Potestio, who scored twice and had five RBIs; Leroy Herbert, who singled in two runs; Anthony Civitano and Kevin Salcedo, who both had doubles; and Alex Rydzewski, who singled and scored.
Defensively, Ryan Paroulek had a strong game at second base, and Joey Caraballo flashed leather, playing third and making two nice plays. The defensive highlight of the week belonged to Ray Potestio, who made a diving catch of a low-line drive to center field preserving Frankie’s no-hitter.
OLS closes out the regular season Thursday evening vs. St. Mel’s, and the boys are looking forward to participating in the playoffs soon afterward.
