There will be a free concert at MacNeil Park Sunday at 6 p.m. Morning Star will present authentic Irish music.
The Poppenhusen Institute presents Garden Tea with Mrs. Poppenhusen and new historic College Point slide presentation, “Then and Now,” on July 26 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Tickets are $15 and must be purchased in advance.
There will be a free concert at MacNeil Park July 27 at 6 p.m. The Something Special Orchestra will perform the ever-popular sounds of the big bands.
There will be a safe driver’s course July 26 from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. This class will allow you to save 10 percent annually for three years on collision and liability insurance premiums. It will also reduce up to four points of accumulated moving violations. The cost is $45. Register by calling the St. Fidelis rectory at 718-445-6164.
Holy Family School in Flushing is looking for graduates to join in the celebration of its 50th anniversary. St. Ambrose Knights of Columbus’ annual “C & B” Barbecue will be Aug. 22 at 5:30 p.m. The admission is one chance book per adult ($10) and two books per family ($20). There will be a delicious menu of choice hamburgers, hot dogs, corn on the cob, salads and soda. A cash bar will be available. Help support a great charitable program.
