The Foot That Launched 1,000 Ships
It was said that Helen of Troy launched those ships simply by showing her face. Imagine if she were wearing this year’s sandals. This Roman-inspired footwear is not only slimming, but so intricate and soft that they elongate even the shortest of legs. From flats to stilettos, laced up your calf or tied at the ankles, these sandals are fit for a goddess. These can be worn with anything from jeans to skirts, suits, to eveningwear, making this the purchase of the summer.
Banana Republic of Forest Hills carries quite a few variations of this sensual sandal. Ones to look out for are the espadrille wedge with canvas ankle ties. Distinguished by their bohemian look, these sandals are definitely meant for warm summer evenings. If sleek and sexy is what you’re looking for, the high-heeled woven leather complete with ankle wraps is the high-class way to go.

Well, it sure didn’t go to the market, but if it did it could now do it in style. Not the typical thong, but the illusion of a toe ring, while strapping your toe securely in. Go classic or elaborate, these sandals come in wild designs and colors.

In a vast array of colors, styles and fabrics, Nike has nothing on these classy kicks. From stiletto slides to high tops, this gym-inspired fad has girls going crazy.
“I originally designed these sneaker-boots in 1993. Recently many fabulous soul and hip hop singers — Jennifer Lopez, Eve, Alicia Keys — have picked them up and totally revived their popularity,” said designer Manolo Blahnik. This style sells for $690 at Bergdorf Goodman, but if you don’t want to spend thousands on originals or even hundreds for Manolo Blahniks, there’s a more reasonable option for the fashion savvy. From leather to suede, designers such as Steve Madden, Navid O Nadia, and Gasoline have hit the target for the everyday Blahnik alternative.
