Bayside 10s stay on a roll in Rosenbluth Tournament

The 10-year-old boys stand at four wins and one loss in the District 26 Rosenbluth Tournament. The boys opened the tournament with a strong 12-0 win over Dwarf Giraffe. The team was led by some great pitching by John Paul Kouloutourus, who went the distan

In the following game the team was surprised by a strong effort from a determined Elmjack team, which prevailed, 6-2. It was a strong game played by both teams. Earlier in regional play, the team had eliminated Elmjack, 10-0. What a difference a couple of games can make.

The team bounced back with a nice 8-6 win over Glen Oaks, with a strong pitching performance from Tom Karcinski and Ryan Paccione to secure the victory. Everyone contributed with the bats to score the eight runs.

The next win was a great pitching performance by Ryan MaGee over a tough College Point team. The Bayside team won this game, 6-0 — a great shutout victory for the left-hander.

The team went on to the rematch with Forest Hills, which defeated Bayside in the last inning for the District title. The team came out strong and never looked back. Bayside won this one by a score of 11-1. The pitching again was key as Joey Pravata was super on the mound.

The team has put up some great offense numbers. The team on the whole is batting .395. It has been a super team effort from this squad the whole way, and there are plenty more ballgames to go. The coaching staff of Mike Karcinski, Dominic Scianna, Ben Biordi, Hans Colflesh and Joe Pravata is very proud of the sportsmanship of this team throughout the tournaments.

A great example of this is when the team lost the District title to Forest Hills and the boys presented the District flag to the Forest Hills team. This was a great show of sportsmanship and really shows what Little League baseball should be about.
