On Saturday, Sept. 13, the critically acclaimed Goliard Ensemble kicks off its 21st season with a recital featuring the ensemble’s principal pianist, Arielle Levioff. The program will include “Nine Preludes” and “L’isle Joyeuse

Levioff is active as a soloist and collaborative artist in New York and abroad. She has appeared at Alice Tully Hall, Weill Recital Hall, Merkin Hall, and the Academy of Music in Philadelphia, and performs annually in London and France. She also regularly tours the Southeastern U.S. with other principal members of the Goliard Ensemble, and is on the faculty of the Sylvan Academy of Music in New Jersey.
Levioff is a specialist in French repertoire and along with music of Debussy and Chopin will include in her program the New York premier of three songs on texts of Paul Verlaine by Frederick Delius. These songs were arranged for piano solo by Paul Brantley. Brantley recently composed and performed incidental music for the La Mama Theatre in Greenwich Village and regularly collaborates with such artists as Bela Fleck and the Flecktones in Nashville.
