COLLEGE POINT – An early morning fire in College Point sent two men and one firefighter to the hospital Tuesday, a Fire Department spokesman said.
The blaze began at 6:21 a.m. at 11-18 154th St. in College Point. By 6:30 a.m. 60 firefighters arrived at the scene, and by 6:50 a.m. the flames were under control, the Fire Department spokesman said.
The fire began in the second story of a three-story residential home. Two residents, a 40-year-old and 26-year-old man, were sent to New York Hospital Queens. They were listed in critical condition Tuesday morning, the Fire Department said.
One firefighter was also injured and sent to New York Hospital Queens with a neck injury. The Fire Department did not know the severity of his condition as of Tuesday.
The fire was not deemed suspicious by the Fire Department. But the police were called to the scene and an investigation was continuing.
Queens narcotics cop arrested on protection order violation
SUFFOLK COUNTY – A Queens narcotics officer was arrested in Suffolk County last Thursday, police said.
Detective Robert Fillipi, who was assigned to Queens North Narcotics, was charged with violating an order of protection, police said.
Ozone Park man charged with selling untaxed cigarettes
JAMAICA – An Ozone Park man was arrested on bribery charges Friday night after he allegedly tried to pay a police sergeant at the 103rd Precinct to leave him alone as he sold untaxed cigarettes, police said.
Robert Booker, 35, was arrested last Thursday for allegedly selling untaxed cigarettes, police said. While his arrest was being processed he allegedly offered a sergeant a $1,000 monthly fee to allow him and his employees to continue selling the cigarettes, police said.
Booker allegedly brought the money to the 103rd Precinct station house at 168-02 92nd Ave. Friday night and was arrested, police said.
One hundred thirty packs of cigarettes were also recovered, police said.
Far Rockaway teen hurt in attempt to flee from police
FAR ROCKAWAY – A 15-year-old boy was found on the ground by police five floors below an open window in his bedroom Monday morning, police said.
The boy was taken to St. John’s Hospital in serious condition after police executing a family court warrant entered his home at 22-11 New Haven Ave. and were led to his room by a family member, police said.
Published reports said police had come to the boy’s home to serve him with an arrest warrant on a charge of criminal possession of stolen property, and he jumped out the window to avoid being sent to a juvenile detention center.
26-year-old arrested in shooting of man at Laurelton party
LAURELTON – A 49-year-old man was shot once in the left arm after a dispute with a man his 20s at 228-5 Merrick Blvd., police said.
The victim, identified by the New York Post as Courtney Atkinson, was taken to Mary Immaculate Hospital in stable condition, police said.
The newspaper reported that 26-year-old Skyly Phillips had been arrested in the shooting, which occurred at a party after Atkinson argued with the younger man over Phillips’ crashing the event.
Springfield Gds. teen dies of unknown cause
SPRINGFIELD GARDENS – An 18-year-old man was found unconscious last Thursday morning at his home and pronounced dead shortly after, police said.
Brian Nelson of 180-06 145th Rd. was found unconscious by family members shortly before 8:30 a.m., police said. He was pronounced dead at Mary Immaculate Hospital at 9:15 a.m.
No arrests were made and the medical examiner was to determine the cause of death.
Traffic agent charged with criminal mischief in S. Jamaica
SOUTH JAMAICA – A civilian traffic enforcement agent was arrested, suspended and charged with criminal mischief Sunday, police said.
Johanne Doliscar was arrested at the 113th Precinct station house at 167-02 Baisley Blvd., police said.
The New York Times reported that Doliscar and her sister had slashed a car’s tires in St. Albans.
An investigation was ongoing.
Livery cab driver listed as critical after Rosedale shoot
ROSEDALE – A livery cab driver was shot Sunday at 253rd Street and 147th Drive, police said.
The 36-year-old driver was shot once in the stomach by an unknown suspect or suspects at 2:39 a.m., police said.
He was taken to Mary Immaculate Hospital in critical condition, police said. There were no arrests in the ongoing investigation.
Cops arrest man in Arverne wanted in N. Carolina slay
ARVERNE – A man wanted in a North Carolina murder was arrested after police stopped his car for a red light violation Monday night, police said.
Juan Delacruz, 30, of Rockaway Park was stopped at Beach Channel Drive and Arverne Boulevard at 8:40 p.m., police said.
A check of his record showed he was wanted in the North Carolina murder, police said.
Far Rockaway woman, 79, found dead on building roof
FAR ROCKAWAY – A 79-year-old woman was found frozen on the roof of a nursing home Feb. 4, police said.
Lillie Gardner was discovered on the roof of the Charles Waldo MacLean Nursing Home at 17-11 Brookhaven Ave. at 12:20 a.m. and was pronounced dead at St. John’s Hospital at 1 a.m., police said.
Published reports said Gardner, who had Alzheimer’s, froze to death on the roof.
City worker arrested on Springfield Gds. drug charge
SPRINGFIELD GARDENS – A city sanitation worker was arrested Sunday and charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance, police said.
Anthony Alston, 40, was arrested at 12:20 a.m. at 140th Avenue and 157th Street, police said.
DOT employee charged with drug possession in Jamaica
JAMAICA – An assistant bridge operator with the city Department of Transportation was arrested Monday on charges of criminal possession of a controlled substance, police said.
Telvis Stallworth, 39, was arrested at 2:15 a.m. at the corner of Waltham and 106th avenues, police said.
Train kills 19-year-old female trying to retrieve cell phone
ELMHURST — A woman was struck and killed by a subway train at the Grand Avenue station in Elmhurst Tuesday afternoon, police said.
Lina Villegas, 19, of Elmhurst was hit by a southbound V train when she went onto the tracks to retrieve the cell phone she had dropped, police said.
She was pronounced dead at the scene, police said. There were no signs of criminality and the investigation was ongoing, police said.
Elmhurst woman reports rape at knifepoint, listed as stable
ELMHURST – A 32-year-old woman was raped at knifepoint Friday afternoon, police said.
A Hispanic man in his late 20s grabbed the woman while she was walking on the street, police said. The man was described as standing between 5’5” and 5’8”, weighing 140 pounds, clean shaven and wearing an orange baseball cap, black leather jacket, blue jeans and white sneakers.
The victim was in stable condition at a local hospital, police said. No arrests were made in the ongoing investigation.
Queens construction worker dies after fall at Bronx site
BRONX – A Queens construction worker died after he fell eight stories at a Bronx work site last Thursday morning, police said.
Jose Viscano was pronounced dead at St. Barnabas Hospital after falling at East 168th Street and Washington Avenue, police said.
Woman, 32, victim of rape on street in Elmhurst
ELMHURST — A 32-year-old woman was raped near Grand Avenue and Seabury Street at 7 a.m. Friday, police said.
The victim was dragged in between two parked cars and raped by a Hispanic man between 27 and 32 years old, police said.
The man was described as 5’2” or 5’3”, weighing between 140 and 150 pounds, wearing a red baseball cap with black letters.

Elmhurst men charged in shooting of teen boy
EAST ELMHURST — Two Elmhurst men were arrested and charged with assault after a 14-year-old boy was shot in the leg Monday night, police said.
Michael Rolston, 16, and Rasul Pershay, 19, were also charged with criminal weapon possession and reckless endangerment after the 10 p.m. shooting at 97th Street and Astoria Boulevard, police said.
A .32 caliber revolver was recovered at the time of their arrest, police said. The victim was taken to Elmhurst Hospital in stable condition.
60-year-old arrested in string of Rego Park robberies
REGO PARK – A Manhattan man was arrested in connection with a string of bank robberies, including one Jan. 10 in Rego Park, police said Friday.
William Randall, 60, was arrested in connection with two Manhattan bank robberies and one at the HSBC at 95-01 63rd Rd., police said.
The New York Post reported that Randall had been arrested in 1987 for robbing bars while impersonating a police officer and was found this month after a dye pack from the HSBC robbery exploded in his jacket.
Forest Hills bank robbed by man passing note
FOREST HILLS – A man robbed the HSBC bank at 107-15 Continental Ave. the morning of Feb. 4, police said.
The man, described as a 6-foot-tall white man in his 40s wearing a black jacket, black hat and black pants, fled with money after passing a note to a teller, police said.
No arrests were made in the ongoing investigation.
LIC man charged in Bronx man’s death
BRONX — A Long Island City man was arrested and charged with the fatal stabbing of a Bronx man in December, police said.
Gilbert Williams, 40, was charged with stabbing Ralph Hinton, 25, in the neck at the corner of Field Place and Grand Concourse Dec. 2, police said.
Hinton died of his injuries Dec. 13, police said.
LIC teens arrested for alleged harrassment
LONG ISLAND CITY — Three boys ages 12, 13 and 14 were arrested and charged with assault and harassment last Thursday after they allegedly punched and made anti-gay statements to a 14-year-old boy, police said.
The victim, who was in the vicinity of 33rd Road when he was attacked, refused medical aid, police said.
The three alleged assailants were arrested at the scene, police said.
City HRA employee charged with trespass, mischief
HOWARD BEACH – A city Human Resources Administration employee was arrested Friday night on criminal trespass and criminal mischief charges, police said.
Gabriel Guerrerio, 43, was arrested at 157-42 101st St., police said.
