A Brooklyn man was charged with attempted murder Monday, after allegedly dragging two police officers a short distance in his car when they tried to arrest him, police said.
Emmanuel Sanchez, 41, of 232 Wyckoff Ave., was also charged with second-degree assault, reckless endangerment, and criminal possession of a controlled substance.
According to police, two plainclothes narcotics detectives attempted to arrest Sanchez on charges of selling drugs at 7:10 p.m. on the Corner of Cornelia Street and Forest Avenue. Sanchez was sitting in a 1992 Nissan Sentra.
When the officers tried to remove him from the vehicle, police said, Sanchez put the vehicle in reverse and dragged them a short distance. Sanchez was apprehended at the scene, they said.
The officers were taken to Jamaica Hospital and treated for minor injuries to their shoulders and knees. Emmanuel was being held pending arraignment, according to the Queens district attorney’s office.
