Mike Langer named new Midville Dodgers GM

The Midville Dodgers have named Mike Langer general manager of baseball operations. Langer played four years of baseball for Archbishop Molloy High School under Coach Jack Curran from 1994 to 1998, during which time he was a part of two city championship

Langer played baseball for Siena College of the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference. In 2000 he moved to professional baseball with the Albany-Colonie Diamond Dogs of the Northern League as an Operations Intern.

After graduation from Siena, he accepted the accounting manager position with the Tri-City Valley Cats Single A affiliate of the Houston Astros, NY-Penn League.

After completing one season with the Valley Cats, Langer moved on to the Trenton Thunder, the Double-A affiliate of the New York Yankees, and accepted a position in their front office as the assistant controller. While with the Trenton Thunder, Langer coordinated their 2004 Internship Program.

In March of 2004, Langer moved back to Queens and is currently working with Strike Holdings, the premier bowling facility of the country with multiple locations on the east coast including two in the New York Metro area.

As captain of the 1997 Midville Dodgers team, Langer guided the team to the Long Island Baseball Association championship and last year was elected to the Midville Dodgers Hall of Fame in a ceremony held at Shea Stadium.

“We are thrilled to have Mike Langer back with Midville… the leadership he will provide will take the Dodgers to the next level,” said Robert Holden, president of the club.

“I look forward to helping the organization in continuing its strong tradition as well as working with the youth of the community,” Langer said. “I am excited about being a part of such a class organization and I think that my knowledge of the game and my experience working in Minor League baseball will help strengthen the Midville Dodgers for many years to come.”
