The 23-year-old driver, Ramlakhan Dayal of Queens Village was heading north on 111th Street approaching a stop sign. The white Econoline van then veered around a car stopped in front of it and charged into the intersection of 111th Street and 111th Avenu
At that moment the bicyclist, Kenneth Wilson, 57, turned west on 111th Avenue and was struck and killed by the speeding van, police said.
Dayal was placed under arrest and charged with criminally negligent homicide, disobeying a stop sign, disobeying pavement markings and imprudent speed for conditions, police said.
Wilson was taken to Jamaica Hospital Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead a half hour after the accident, police said.
