Police release photos of suspects wanted in connection with two bank robberies

FOREST HILLS — Police have released photos of a suspect wanted for a pair of bank robberies in the 112th Precinct, both of which occurred Monday.

The first incident took place at the Sterling National Savings Bank, 108-01 Queens Blvd., after the suspect handed the teller a note demanding money at about 9:50 a.m., police said.

He was not able to steal any money in that attempt.

The second robbery involved the Independence Bank at 72-44 Austin St., where the suspect again handed the teller a note at about 10:10 a.m., police said. In the second attempt, he fled with an undetermined amount of money, police said.

No injuries were reported in either robbery.
