Joe Leverette, 24, and two others were standing near the intersection of 164th Street and 109th Avenue just before 8 p.m. Monday, police said. An unknown man rode up on a bike and squeezed off a round of bullets, hitting Leverette three times in the back, police said. Leverette, of 111th Avenue, was found dead at the scene when officers arrived shortly after the gunfire.The two others were also wounded in the shooting. A 39-year-old man was shot in the left hip and a 33-year-old man was hit in right leg, police said. They managed to get themselves to Mary Immaculate Hospital in Jamaica and were both in stable condition, police said.No arrests were made and the investigation was continuing, police said.
