Keep Our Streets Safe Inc., a non-profit anti-violence group, was planning the event to encourage people to take a stand against crime and to pay tribute to the victims of violence and their families, according to a release from the group.Participants will meet at the corner of Liberty Avenue and Merrick Boulevard in Jamaica at 11 a.m., join hands and observe a moment of silence. From there the crowd will march down Merrick Boulevard to St. Albans Park at Sayers Avenue.The event will conclude with a few speeches and a prayer, according to the release.For more information, call Keep Our Streets Safe at 718-219-0460.
