The airline, a subsidiary of World Air Holdings Inc., plans to fly to the Ghanian capital of Accra, using Boeing 767-300ER jetliners with flights each Friday.At present, flights to Ghana are available only with stops in Europe.”This nonstop service will drastically reduce the travel time between the United States and Ghana,” said Rob Binns, senior vice president of marketing and planning for World Air Holdings.”This also will be the only nonstop scheduled service to any country in West Africa, providing an important link between the United States and other West African nations,” Binns said.North American Airlines flights will depart from JFK at 11 p.m. Friday with arrival in Accra at 1:30 p.m. Saturday and leave Accra at noon Sunday with arrival at JFK at 6:55 p.m. Sunday.Reservations can be made through the airline at 1800-FLY-NAAA2 or on line at www.northabbmericanair.com.North American Airlines has been offering both charter and scheduled service for 15 years. The airline's scheduled service includes flights between Oakland, Calif., and Honolulu, Kauai, Maui and Hawaii and between JFK and Georgetown, Guyana.World Air Holdings, Inc. based in Peachtree City, Ga., has three wholly owned subsidiaries, World Airways, Inc., North American Airlines, Inc. and World Risk Solutions, Ltd.North American Airlines operates out of JFK's Terminal 4, the 1.5 million square-foot facility opened in May 2001 with an annual volume of 6.5 million passengers.
