It’s time for New Year’s resolutions, and we at The Queens Courier have ours too:
We resolve to continue to cover Queens and its residents, businesses, children, cultural centers, curiosities, restaurants, politicians, community boards, arts and entertainment, real estate holdings and neighborhoods in our award-winning fashion.
As the largest circulation weekly in the borough, we resolve that in the coming year we will bring your neighbors and their polyglot communities to life with in-depth stories about the streets and shopping areas, homes and businesses and the melting pot of people who live and work in Queens.
We will continue to cover the major news events and stories that affect the lives and livelihoods of our readers and their families.
We resolve to temper our coverage with positive, upbeat articles about the good things in the borough and the good people that make Queens such a wonderful place to live and raise a family.
We resolve to tackle the big issues that affect the borough from what to do about city trees, the explosion of graffiti, education successes and failures to changes coming to the immigration laws.
We resolve to submit your questions about problems to Mayor Michael Bloomberg who will answer them exclusively in our pages. We continue to welcome your letters to the editor, especially when you write about Queens issues and problems. Those letters will be given priority over all other themed mail.
We resolve to surprise you with a new look!
A new Classified section will debut early in January.
Autos, both new and used, will have their own new colorful home.
Our new Web site will launch and will be bigger and more interactive than ever. Look for the new Blog!
The main news section will feature bolder headlines, brighter photos and a clean, colorful redesign.
Lastly, we resolve to treat you our readers and our advertisers like the Kings and Queens you are. Have a happy and healthy New Year.
