Fresh off his appearance in the U.S. Army All-American Bowl in San Antonio, TX, Christ the King’s Maurice Evans announced he will attend Big Ten football powerhouse Penn State next fall.
The 6-foot-3, 250-pound defensive end, who led the Royals with 92 tackles and 16 sacks, said Virginia was a close second. Evans is rated as New York’s top gridiron prospect and is the fifth-rated defensive end in the country.

In basketball, Cardozo’s Edmund McRae gave a verbal commitment to play in the MAAC for St. Peter’s (NJ). The 6-foot-7 McRae, an athletic wing with 3-point range, transferred to Cardozo from Lawrence Woodmere Academy (LI) this fall. This year, he’s averaging 14 points- and eight rebounds-a-game for the Judges.
