Job: Thompson is the pastor at the Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church in Jamaica and has been there since October. He was licensed and ordained under Dr. James S. Allen, the pastor of the Vine Memorial Baptist Church in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. “It wasn’t just something I pursued as a young man,” explained Mr. Thompson. “It was a calling.”
Affiliations: Thompson is a member of the National Association of Black Seminarians, The American Baptist Association and the National Baptist Convention, USA Inc. He also served as a faculty member of the Congress of Christian Education, an Auxiliary of the National Baptist Convention, USA, Inc. and for the Congress of Christian Education, National Baptist Association of Germany.
Education: Thompson received his B.A. in Sociology from Eastern University and received his Masters of Divinity and Practical Theology from Eastern Baptist Theological Seminary. Presently, Thompson is a Doctoral Student at Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania in Health Care and Ethics.
Family: Thompson has been married to his wife Linda for 12 years and they have two children, Ethan and Maya.
Hobbies: Thompson enjoys reading.
Favorite Memory: “Growing up as a child with my brothers and sisters,” noted Thompson. “The time we spent together as a family.”
Biggest Gripe: “Procrastination.”
